What is the difference between shortwave, mediumwave and longwave infrared?
The ECOSUN HEATSTRIP uses long-wave infrared technology, which is only suitable for enclosed verandas and wind-free spaces, not for open patios. Long-wave infrared works best in sheltered, wind-free environments. For sheltered or wind-free patios, you need medium-wave infrared (such as LXV Smart), and for fully open patios where wind and rain are not a problem, you need short-wave infrared (such as Heliosa).
